Some of the cold, wintery, snow photos taken here at Copperleigh Trout Cottages on 10 & 11 Aug 2026. We didn't get too much snow, received 70mm of rain though which will kickstart the grass to start growing. iNhlosane Mountain is still very white at the moment.

Higher up towards Impendle also had a lot more snow. We decided to keep all of the sheep and goats inside yesterday, and all the young ones stayed close by today so they can duck in for cover. Still extremely cold here on the farm - perfect for our guests sitting inside next to the fireplace!

The Wattled Crane is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, making every sighting a reminder of just how important it is to protect the wetlands and grasslands they call home. 🌿

Very thankful to a fellow farmer who has already sent 20 of 40 donated bales to assist us with feeding our cattle after the devasting fires last week. These should keep us going for a couple of weeks.
