It’s official: our beaches have earned international recognition for the 2026/2027 season.

🔵 𝗗𝗼𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 keeps its Blue Flag status, from December 2026 to April 2027. That means clean water, lifeguards on duty and top facilities, all checked against strict international standards. It’s the ideal spot for a family swim this festive season.

🟢 𝗝𝗕𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗯𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 are both Green Coast sites again. The award recognises their natural beauty and the work the JBay Surf Alliance and locals put into protecting them.

📜 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄?
Jeffreys Bay started out as a small trading post. In 1849 Joseph Jeffrey opened a store right here on the beach, and the bay was named after him.

For about the next hundred years it was a quiet fishing spot. Then, in the 1960s, surfers discovered the long right-hand waves at Supertubes, and JBay has been on the world surfing map ever since. Today the best surfers on the planet come here to compete, and you can watch them from the boardwalk with an ice cream in hand. 🍦

From a trader’s store to a world-famous surf town, and still one of the cleanest coastlines around. Not bad, Jeffreys Bay! 😉
