Melville Gap Guesthouse is a modern and welcoming guesthouse that has been renovated with Melville heritage of arts and culture in mind. Located on the edge of Melville, it has a bit of both worlds – a quiet street as well as close proximity to all the sites Melville has to offer. The guesthouse consists of the 4 stylishly renovated bedrooms in the Main house as well as two bedrooms in a separate

building for those that prefer a bit more privacy as they have their own entrances. The open-plan lounge and dining area can easily accommodate a small private or corporate function for up to 20-25 guests. It’s close proximity to UJ and Wits universities makes it a popular place for academics and their families. Situated just off Bayers Naude, the guesthouse is easily reachable by the major highways. The open-plan dining and lounge area is available for guests to use at all times. Breakfast with assortment of both hot and cold dishes, is served in the Dining Area from 7am-9:00am on weekdays and 8am-10.30am on weekends and holidays and is included in the room rate. During the day you are welcome to have a meeting or entertain a guest for a cup of tea/coffee – we have created various nooks with our guests’ comfort in mind. If your day finished early and you want to shoot some extra emails, you are welcome to set up your laptop at the kitchen bar counter – we have plenty of plugs and USB points available, and of course, there is that excellent coffee machine ready for you! In the evenings and during the weekends we welcome you to our lounge to watch a sports game or a movie on the large TV next to a cosy fireplace. If you are looking for a private space for a small-scale conference or any other function, be it for business or family, we are happy to accommodate groups up to 20 people! We have a TV screen set up in the Dining Area that is connected to the network and can be used for presentations. We can assist you with outside catering and take care of coffee/tea time for your function. Inspired by Melville’s artistic heritage, we celebrate art at Melville Gap by partnering with South African artists to bring colour to our interior design. All displayed art can be purchased as displayed on our walls or you can place an order for a canvass print that will arrive at the door of your home. Please request the prices at Reception.
