Sisiza Ukusiza Pty Ltd wants to utilize the touristic & commercial potential of Johannesburg and the East Rand, to support the local population. Sisiza Ukusiza Pty Ltd is a so called “social enterprise” with the social and economic ambitions. We work with two target groups:
- Clients:
(Inter)national travelers, youth and young at heart, that want to spend some time in Johannesburg and it’s surroun
dings, either to get to know the town, the culture, the history and the people, or to lend a hand in one of the various NGO’s in the area of Tsakane – KwaThema.
- Staff:
We aim to create opportunities for the youth from the Tsakane – Kwathema and Langaville townships - with an extraordinary distance to the labor market. In June/July 2014 we organised the first volunteer working holiday to the Sithand'Izingane Care Project. Young international volunteers spend 4 weeks in Tsakane to lend a hand. Early 2015 we will open an overnight accomodation in Kwathema / Geluksdal, where (inter)national guests will come to stay for a short period and to lend a hand in one of the NGO’s in the area. Retreats, training, and workshops will also be organized, and overnight visitors / guests will share diner in the evening. The trips and the overnight facilities are more than just a holiday and a place to stay for the night, but it will create opportunities for both the visitors as the youth. This overnight accomodation will be operated by the owners of Sisiza Ukusiza supported by the local youth from the Tsakane / Kwathema township. Our guests are also encouraged to spend the night with our local host families, and by doing this, get to know and understand the urban township live even better. Early 2016 a Youth Bed & Breakfast will be opened in the surrounding of Melville – Johannesburg. This (more luxury) overnight accomodation wil focus on the individual (inter)national tourist that wants to get to know Jo’burg and surroundings. The B&B guests are also encouraged to make use of the Tsakane / Kwathema fascilities and to visit the Sithand’Izingane Care project. Also for them it is possible to stay over at one of our local host families we have selected.
