🚨 EDENVALE / DOWERGLEN COMMUNITY — WE NEED YOUR HELP 🚨

On Monday evening, 25 May 2026, at approximately 9pm, one of our guests visiting from France at our guest house Glendower View Guest House was involved in a serious hit-and-run incident on Linksfield Road near the corner of Edward Drive, opposite The Verge Shopping Centre and behind the Engen Garage in Dowerglen.

The gentleman, who is in his 70s, sustained very serious injuries including multiple fractures and is currently in ICU undergoing treatment and surgery.

Two incredibly kind young women stopped to assist and stayed with him during an extremely traumatic situation. Their compassion and humanity meant more than words can express. Sadly, many other vehicles passed by without stopping.

At this stage, we are working with the authorities and trying to gather any information or footage that may help identify the vehicle involved. We have managed to locate nearby Vuma camera footage, but access requires the formal police process currently underway.

We would like to clarify that we cannot confirm details regarding the driver or vehicle involved, as the incident happened very quickly and visibility was poor.

If anyone witnessed anything on Linksfield Road near The Verge Shopping Centre between approximately 8:30pm and 9:10pm on Monday evening, or if any nearby homes or businesses may have CCTV or dashcam footage, we kindly ask you to please come forward.

Even the smallest piece of information could help.
