🐾 Baby Nyala Update from the Siyaya Family! 🐾

We're thrilled to share an update on our adorable baby nyala, who you all met about two weeks ago! 🌿🍼

Our little one is doing wonderfully—very healthy and full of energy. It's been heartwarming to see how much it loves its new home and how quickly it's getting accustomed to being around the Siyaya family.

Our Guides, Nick and Matthew, have affectionately named our new addition Gustav, and we are sincerely hoping it's a boy. We'll only know the gender for sure in about six months when he/she starts its color shift journey.

Did you know that adolescent nyalas undergo a fascinating transformation? Young males and females look quite similar at birth, sporting a reddish-brown coat with white stripes. As they grow, males will start to darken, developing a slate-gray color and impressive spiral horns, a process that usually begins around six months of age. Females, on the other hand, retain their lighter coloration and remain hornless.

🎓 Big cheers for Nick, who has just sprouted a new leaf with his Diploma in Nature Conservation! His roots in the Eastern Cape's natural beauty nurtured a love for the wild that flourished into a lifelong passion. It was that Grade 6 game drive that set his heart on the path of a ranger, seeking the purest connection with nature. His studies at Centurion Academy were embraced with the same dedication he showed in caring for his cherished granny's kraal—a trust that only strengthened his resolve.

This diploma is far more than an accolade; it's a testament to Nick's commitment to conservation, understanding animal nutrition, and the wellbeing of his granny's livestock.
