🖤 IN MEMORY OF WILLIE BLOMERUS WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN 79 TODAY
For more than 50 years, Willie Blomerus called Kareeboomdam home.
A devoted husband and father, and a hardworking farmer, Willie built and managed a sheep farm, dedicating his life to the land.
After seven years of relentless drought, the sheep herd was devastated, leaving the farm’s future uncertain.
During this difficult time, the idea for Verneukpan Wild Camping at Kareeboomdam was born — a way to sustain the farm while sharing this remarkable part of the Northern Cape.
Today, when guests gather around a campfire, watch the sunset over Verneukpan, or sleep beneath the stars, they experience the landscape Willie loved and cared for all his life.
Verneukpan Wild Camping is part of his legacy.
His love for the land lives on in every sunrise, sunset, and star above Kareeboomdam. ⭐
