3 years ago... the most terrible thing happened; a devastating fire that destroyed Lungi's B&B. Today we remember... and we are happy and so grateful that Lungi's B&B arised again and is still that special place you have to visit when you're in Cape Town!!! ❤❤❤
Dear friends,
Very sad news about Lungi's B&B: we have had a huge fire at Lungi's B&B last night. Luckely there were no guests at that moment and also Lungi and her family managed to get out of the house in time. So nobody is hurt or injured. We are very happy and blessed with that....
But the fire ruined the biggest part of the house and the other side is damaged very badly. We can't use it as a B&B or a house at the moment. It has a immense impact on all of us.
So unfortunatelly we cannot accommodate any guests and are close untill further notice. We will keep you informed about all the progression. Because we do want to rebuild and to open Lungi's B&B again...!!
In the spirit of UBUNTU...!!!

Clean Cooking Revolution
Besides a cookstove, our Clean Cookstove can also be used as a heater. Really useful during the cold winter months!
Already the last day at the World Travel Market Africa to promote Lungi's Township B&B!!
Clean Cooking Revolution
This is Lungi, one of our Clean Cooking Angels. She is selling our Clean Cookstoves in Khayelitsha, the township where she also living in. Lungi wants to change people’s lives. Since the start of the selling of the Clean Cookstoves, no more household fires took place in the area she lives in. She is doing a great job!
You are more than welcome to have a look in our township Makhaza! 😊
Vorig jaar sliepen een paar van onze stagiaires een nacht bij Lungis B&B. "Welcome. May all who come as guests, leave as friends."
So sad what happened in Imizamo Yethu. Let's all think of and pray for the people who lost everything in this disastrous fire...
A disastrous fire took away over 1000 houses in township Imizamo Yethu (Mandela Park) in Houtbay last Saturday, March 11th. Over 15.000 are left with no possessions at all.
We are working in IY for a long time already and will donate a free Clean Cookstove and wood pellets to all of the victims, in order to rebuild their life with a proper and safe way to cook their meals. We want the dangerous paraffin stoves, that cause many of these fires, out of the townships forever!
Please support this endeavour to donate as many stoves as needed and make a lasting difference for the people of IY.

These stoves are awesome!
Clean Cooking Revolution makes it possible for people in the townships to buy a Clean Cookstove at an affordable price.
The great thing is that they can earn back on fuel costs already within the first month. The fuel costs of the Clean Cookstove per average meal are less than the fuel costs of for example paraffin stoves, gas (LPG) stoves, and electricity stoves.
So eventually they do not only cook healthier, safer, and cleaner, they also save money!
We had good fun last Saturday at the Studentday @ Lungi's B&B :-)
Student day 4th of March. But also for volunteers and others who are interested in a nice and active day in the township! :-)
We had an incredible day yesterday with students over from th USA! :-)
This morning Benjamin from the Clean Cooking Revolution handed over the first stove to Lungi. From today on Lungi is a Clean Cooking Angel, which means she will promote and sell Clean Cookstoves. These stoves provide cheaper, safer, cleaner and healthier cooking! Also look at: http://cleancookingrevolution.com/

Thebe Tourism Group
Cape Town Tourism's two board development fund recipients were announced last night at the Radisson Blu in Bantry Bay. During the proceedings Brett Hendricks, Thebe Tourism Group General Manager and Cape Town Tourism board member and also part of the board fund committee, announced that although the third nomination for the fund, Lungi's Homestay and B&B, wasn't one of the Cape Town Tourism fund recipients, their story is one that stuck with Thebe Tourism Group. In lieu of this, Thebe Tourism committed to match the other two recipient's grants of R50 000.00 as well as business guidance and marketing support for Lungi's B&B. We are very proud to be associated and committed to this project, full story to be released soon, watch this space! I ♥ Cape Town
