The Poor Man’s Buffalo

There’s nothing easy about hunting a mature blue wildebeest. Known as the “Poor Man’s Buffalo,” they are tough, sharp eyed and incredibly challenging to hunt.

This stalk was all about patience, reading the wind, using the terrain and closing the distance one careful step at a time. In the African bush, the final few metres are often what separates a good hunt from an unforgettable one.

The common blesbuck comes in several beautiful colour variations and is most often found in large herds.

And when one goes… they ALL go!

What an unforgettable hunt for our huntress!
Congratulations on this beautiful waterbuck with some seriously impressive horns ... definitely a trophy worth getting wet for!

Now, just to clear up a few things...
Yes, it is winter.
Yes, the water was freezing.
And yes, waterbuck must be taken near water!

But thankfully, our huntress came prepared...
AT LEAST SHE BROUGHT HER BIBS

She may have pulled the trigger... but her husband definitely earned his part of this trophy! He had to SWIM for it! Now that's what we call supporting your wife's hunting addiction!
