A Visit to Remember
Serradella Lodge in Kleinmond boasts uninterrupted and sweeping views of the mountains over the local golf course. The lodge is located on a large plot with a flowing mountain stream. The tranquillity in the immediate vicinity and surroundings provides an ideal milieu for a peaceful breakaway weekend. Two huge oak trees provide shaded parking. Verandas (one on each floor) have inviting entertainment areas as well as barbecue facilities. An authentic stone wall (apparently one of the oldest in Kleinmond) affords complete privacy for entertainment around the braai area under the oak trees in a rural setting.
The accommodation is ideal for serious golfers, with only a narrow road separating the lodge from the golf course. The club house is only a short walk away. The Arabella golf course is also located in the area and offers an alternative course on which to play.
The lodge is newly built and modern with all the conveniences expected of a luxury lodge. The upper floor has an en-suite bedroom with an entertainment area and a large veranda. On the ground floor is another en-suite bedroom, an entertainment area and a fitted kitchen as well as a large veranda serving outdoor leisure activities.
Guests have the choice of adapting the rooms to provide for two single beds or a double bed. Four persons can easily be accommodated. There is also a sleeper couch in the sitting room which can used for additional sleeping arrangements. The lodge is ideal for two couples to spend a holiday together or for a four-ball golf outing. Children are welcome.
Kleinmond is renowned for its hiking trails. Visitors can walk along the rocky coast in winter and spot whales blowing in the ocean or walk alongside the Palmiet river in summer and enjoy its inviting swimming pools. There are many contour paths in the mountains for hikers through a wide diversity of flowering plants, collectively known as fynbos. The legendary wild horses of Kleinmond, the cosmopolitan ambiance of the harbour-area with its many restaurants and small shops and the proximity of the Harold Porter Botanical Garden in Bettyβs Bay and nearby Kogel Bay Nature Reserve all contribute to the attractiveness of Kleinmond as a holiday destination or for a break-away weekend. The beautiful lagoon that divides the the main beach attracts not only beachgoers, but also kayakers and bird watchers. The Hemel-and Aarde Valley near Hermanus is not far away and provides many opportunities for wine tasting.
Kleinmond is not only an ideal seaside resort with many facilities, but also an all-season holiday destination for hikers, golfers, kayakers, bird-watchers and others seeking tranquil holidays in magnificent surroundings.
