They received an oak tree in a small tin as a gift during the house warming party. He planted the tree next to the beautiful house and after 66 years this majestic tree is a silent witness to countless events, functions, gatherings and visits. Rosa van Wyk bought the property in 1990 and in 1997 she turned it into an exceptional guest house which she furnished in a chic and exquisite, but homely, way. The guest house is reminiscent of Clarens. Summer Place is a home away from home for many visitors. Summer Place is a paradise for artists and visitors alike.
