The Capri

The Capri Welcome to The Capri. We are a modern, classy boutique guesthouse situated in beautiful Knysna. We offer safe parking for both bikes and vehicles.

We offer our guests an intimate and peaceful stay, with 3 spacious, tastefully decorated luxury rooms overlooking the Knysna Lagoon. As an added benefit, our guesthouse is “green”, boasting solar power, gas geysers and water tanks. If load shedding should arise, you will still have the comfort of a warm shower and electricity in your room. We are perfectly located just a couple of minutes’ from to

wn, the grocery store, and Leisure Isle, with a magnificent view of the lagoon, the Heads, Leisure Isle and Thesen Island. Although our rates are room only, tea and coffee is supplied in your room, and a complementary "Grab 'n Go" breakfast, consisting of seasonal, fresh fruit, muffins, and Rusks can be enjoyed in the diner/coffee lounge. (Decembers only)

If arranged prior to arrival, we can offer delectable meals prepared fresh for you by our private chefs at an additional cost. Because Harleys have been a passion of Lynda (the Owner) and late husband Tommy for 16 years, we also openly invite Harley Davidson riders and clubs to our guesthouse. All rooms are fully serviced and have access to Netflix and Wi-Fi. As your hostess, I am available at all times to ensure that your stay at the Capri is a memorable and pleasurable one.

What makes the KNYSNA OYSTER so special isn’t just its taste. It’s a combination of nature, location, and history that sets it apart. Wild Knysna oysters grow naturally on rocks and reefs. They take longer to mature, developing a firmer texture and a more intense, ocean-forward flavor. Their distinct, briny flavor with subtle sweet undertones, a taste that’s hard to replicate anywhere else.

Oysters have been part of Knysna’s story for centuries, first as a natural resource harvested by indigenous communities, then as a sought-after delicacy enjoyed by travelers and locals alike.
Eating a Knysna oyster is more than just a culinary experience, it’s a way to taste the region's natural beauty. Whether you're savouring them freshly shucked by the water's edge or paired with a crisp glass of local wine, every oyster tells a story of the lagoon's tides and the town's traditions.

Join us at 34 South for all your oyster cravings, whether you like them freshly shucked, fried, grilled or in a soup. We have flavours for every pallet.
