We are looking for 2 passionate and dedicated kitchen assistants (CPD’s) to join our small but growing team at a beautiful, busy lodge.

This is an opportunity for someone who loves food, takes pride in their work, and wants to grow within a quality hospitality environment.

We are looking for someone who:
*Has experience working in a professional or graded kitchen environment
• Understands the fundamentals of kitchen operations
• Is confident with preparation work, basic cooking techniques, and kitchen organisation (Working with fresh product a bonus)
• Has a strong focus on cleanliness, hygiene, and attention to detail
• Takes pride in producing consistent, quality dishes
• Is reliable, hardworking, and serious about developing their skills
• Works well as part of a team and is willing to learn and grow with us

A formal chef qualification is not essential — we value experience, passion, commitment, and the right attitude.

The successful candidates will become part of a team that focuses on fresh, quality food and creating memorable experiences for our guests in the beautiful Garden Route.

Earth & Fire Restaurant at Blackwaters River Lodge is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our expanding hospitality team.

We are looking for a dedicated culinary professional who has worked with fresh ingredients and understands that exceptional kitchens are built on consistency, discipline, teamwork, and meticulous attention to detail.

The successful candidate will work closely with management to uphold and further develop our kitchen standards, ensuring that every guest receives a consistent, exceptional dining experience.

We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience in a professional or graded kitchen environment
• Possesses strong culinary fundamentals and excellent food preparation skills with fresh produce
• Can effectively lead, support, and train a kitchen team
*Can work in a small kitchen envirnment
• Maintains exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation
• Can confidently manage service and kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef
• Understands the importance of following established recipes, menus, plating standards, and kitchen procedures
• Can manage stock control & costings
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and a commitment to professional growth within the business and of the business
