There’s the Knysna most people see – and then there’s the version you find when you leave the main road.

The older passes around town weren’t built for convenience. They were built out of necessity, cutting through forest and over mountain ridges long before the N2 existed.

Today, they’re still there – quieter, less travelled, and well worth exploring if you’re not in a hurry.
