Yesterday, we shared a sighting of a beautiful Kudu bull that our guide, Themba, recorded from a recent safari.

Themba also shared today's clip and aside from the majestic beauty of these beautiful antelope, it's also interesting to know that the horns of a kudu male are also an indication of age.

The growth stages are as follows:
- 6–12 Months: Horns start to bud and emerge
- 2 Years: Horns form their first complete twist or spiral rotation.
- 3 Years: Horn tips point distinctively backward and outward.
- 6 Years: Horns reach full length and complete about two and a half twists.
- 8+ Years: Older, mature bulls may subtly refine or complete a final tight turn, with
rare cases even reaching up to three full turns.

Fully grown kudu horns can reach anything between 1.2 and 1.8 meters, with the all time record being 1.89m!

They are the unicorns of the wild, but to survive they have to sacrifice their horns... The relentless poaching of these amazing animals has left their numbers dwindling and sightings are scarce 💔.

So you can imagine the joy and excitement when our guests recently saw not one, but two in during a with our guide, Doylance. It was an experience to treasure, and it is our hope that these wonderful animals will be the ultimate survivors in the war against poaching. 🦏❤️.

Guide, Doylance, shared this awesome sighting from one of our recent adventures in ...

This small family of Southern Ground Hornbills was encouraging their baby to feed on a recent small kill. Juvenile Ground Hornbills can be easily identified by the absence of their colours, despite sometimes appearing to be adult in size. They are raised by all the adults in the family group and sometimes look like they are being quite demanding and dramatic😆. This lovely sighting is a rare insight into the patience and practice it takes to grow up in the wild.

Zebras are big favorites among our guests from around the country and the world. They are always awesome to see in the wild gardens of 4-star and on our magical in the legendary .

Today's clip, recorded by our guide, Doylance, on a recent of zebras fighting, is action filled! Not everyone sees this side of their social interactions - zebras can be brutal! As you can see, kicking and biting are perfectly acceptable when zebras are at odds and it's not hard to see that zebras can injure one another severely. Zebras fight for dominance (and by extension mating rights), and young males are also expelled from their birth herds when they reach sexual maturity.

Teenage elephants are as temperamental as human teenagers are reputed to be, but we never get tired of seeing the entertaining displays of attitude from these young gentle giants in the wild. But in today's post, guide, Doylance, shared this delightful sighting from a recent with our guests in , where we found a very calm teenager who showed no signs of attitude at all 😆.
