FREE KRUGER – BUT HERE’S WHAT “FREE” REALLY MEANS 🌿🦁

Yes, it’s official! 🎉🇿🇦

From 7–11 September 2026, South African day visitors can enjoy FREE entry to the Kruger National Park as part of SANParks’ annual SA National Parks Week. 🌿🐘

Just a friendly reminder to avoid any confusion: the free offer applies to the entrance/conservation fee only. Accommodation, guided game drives, activities, food and other tourism services will still be charged at the normal rates.

A few important things to keep in mind:

🌿 Adults must bring a valid South African ID.
🌿 Children under 18 do not need to provide identification.
🌿 The offer is for day visitors only.
🌿 Kruger has daily visitor limits, so entry will still be subject to gate capacity.
🌿 SA National Parks Week runs from 7–13 September 2026, but Kruger National Park’s free-entry period is specifically Monday 7 September to Friday 11 September.

So yes… you really can enjoy a wonderful day in the Kruger without paying the normal entrance fee! 🦁🐘🦒

Pack the padkos, grab the binoculars, don’t forget your ID and come enjoy one of the most beautiful places in South Africa. ❤️🌿

Pay a visit to Marloth Park’s own game reserve, Lionspruit. This unique reserve is home to lion, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and a variety of antelope species, offering a wonderful self-drive wildlife experience. Enjoy a relaxing picnic or traditional South African braai at Frikkie’s Dam, or spend some quiet time birdwatching from one of the reserve’s scenic bird hides. With its peaceful atmosphere and diverse wildlife, Lionspruit is a hidden gem well worth exploring.

Adjacent to Marloth Park is a lovely Thai restaurant situated on the banks of the Crocodile River. Treat yourself to authentic Thai cuisine while taking in breathtaking views across the river into the Kruger National Park. It’s the perfect setting to relax, enjoy delicious food, and, if you’re lucky, spot elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and other wildlife along the riverbank.
