A pride of lions stalking through the long grass of Sabi Sand suddenly launched a devastating ambush on a nearby wild dog pack. The massive male lion broke away from the flankers, surging forward to intercept the pack's alpha female. With the rest of the pack fleeing in panic, the dominant big cat firmly asserted his dominance in a fierce territorial showdown.

𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝘄𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘄𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗮𝘆!?
Why must you beware when wearing a puffer jacket in Marloth Park?

Because you might fail to notice the puffing of a puffy! Jokes aside, this really happened to HR Alison Whitehead on a recent Bird Walk. Alison thought what she was hearing was only her sleeves rubbing against the body of the jacket as she raised her binoculars. Fortunately for us all, a young birder came over and pointed out that she was heading straight for a puffing puff adder, 𝘉𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘴!

As it is spring our reptiles are becoming more active, so we all need to be alert to snakes – bearing in mind that they only ever attack when they feel threatened and cornered. So, if you leave them alone, they will leave you alone!

A wandering hyena tracked an irresistible scent through dry grass and locked eyes on an African rock python tightly constricting an impala. The giant snake raised its head and mirrored every move to protect its hard-earned meal against the looming scavenger. Tension peaked as the bold beast closed the final inches, ready to rip the fresh catch straight from the coils in a desperate struggle for survival.
