We’ve been a little quiet on here… but it hasn’t been a quiet time to say the least. #
It’s actually been busier than ever, and better than ever.
I’ve been back on site a lot more lately, getting into the detail of things again, overseeing homes, managing check-ins, walking renovation sites, and working closely with the team. From Imhoff to Kommetjie to Misty Cliffs, it’s been full days, every day.
Behind the scenes, there’s been a real shift within my little business. I’ve taken the time to relook at our team, refine our strategy, and be more considered about the homes we take on and how we manage them. We’ve let go of a few that no longer align, and tightened our approach across the board.
The focus now is incredibly clear to me - well-maintained homes and beautifully hosted holiday stays. Everything to be run properly, with a level of detail, standards and consistency that is unbeatable.
I also recently completed my NQF4 and qualified as a Property Practitioner, which means we’ll soon be stepping into long-term rentals alongside our Airbnb portfolio, something I’m really looking forward to building.
Operationally, we’ve been refining EVERYTHING, from cleaning systems to on-site standards. I have been on site, present and engaged, working alongside the team to make sure that every T is crossed, every i has its dot, and we are doing everything in the most efficient and productive way.
At the same time, we’ve got some beautiful things in motion. A renovation we have been overseeing for a year in Kommetjie nearing completion for July, and a new beachfront home we signed is launching from 1 May that I can’t wait to share more of.
And in between all of that… life with kids. Modern Motherhood is something else. Not for the feint hearted.
Three boys, school holidays, trying to juggle it all and still make time for the beach where we can.
It’s full. It’s a lot. But it’s also exactly where I want to be, and I thrive in this space.
