Kommetjie’s latest public artwork by Chip Snaddon, launching into the gale at the Bird Sanctuary - a Cape Gannet (listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red Data list) the sculpture beautifully rendered from salvaged materials, mostly driftwood with its distinctive blue eyeliner. or Chapman’s Peak drive is famed for its spectacular views of Noordhoek beach and the south west coastline from Houtbay to Kommetjie. Yesterday we viewed it from both sides of the bay. This stunning drive along sheer cliffs is just 15 minutes away from Kommetjie via Noordhoek and well worth the trip.
