Dearest Camping family & fishing friends

A LONG AWAITED UPDATE.

7 weeks have passed since the first flooding of our beloved caravan park!

We have only been able to truly access the park this week. It was too drenched with water and sludge.

This is a video taken this morning. Words fail to describe the depth of the devestation.

Currently the farm and the welfare of our dairy herd 🐮has taken priority over the repairs of the camping site (which I believe everyone would understand).

It is going to be slow rebuild and for now we cannot commit to any future expected opening date. 📅

Thanks for all the tremendous support already shown in so many different ways through phone calls, messages and prayers.

Dearest Camping family & fishing friends

As most of you are already aware, our Gamtoos gem is currently overflowed by tons of water!

We truly did not expect this devastation. Not knowing the outcome and not knowing the full extend of the amount of water on its way, we still clung to the hope in our hearts that the level of the raging waters would not cause the devastating damage we had to witness in our caravan park, farming communities and surrounding area since the call for evacuation came.

Our closing time for the winter season came much quicker than we planned, and unfortunately we will be closed untill further notice.

Thanks for all the tremendous support already shown in so many different ways through phone calls, messages and prayers.

We will keep on hoping, trusting and praying for something even more beautiful to rise out of these raging waters (aka roaring river!)

Jy het nog een week om jou gunstelling kampplek in die Luister FM kontrei te noem. Die top 10 finalis Kamp Plekke word volgende Maandag, 4 Mei bekend gestel, waarna ek 6 sal kies om op die lug oor te gesels, en daarna sal ons Luisteraars vir die TOP 3 KAMP PLEKKE in die Luister FM kontrei stem.

Met groot hartseer wat ons afskeid neem van een van ons geliefde personeel. Nee wag, Deon was nie net 'n uitstekende park bestuurder nie, hy was family... soos ou furniture net beter!

Deon ~ getrou, eerbaar, lojaal en altyd reg met daad en raad. ‘n Slim pel, vinniger as 'n calculator, ‘n vriend wat leer en help. Soms ‘n streng oupa, kwaaier karavaanpark oompie, maar nooit sodat mens rede nie kan verstaan. ‘n Storieverteller, grapmaker en pleinweg ‘n lekker mens!

Nestled inbetween the pivots of our dairyfarm on the embankment of the Gamtoos river (close to the rivermouth), our friendly cows meet and greet you to the thrill and delight of the youngsters on arrival to our caravan park.

Our 40 camp sites are level and barefeet friendly covered with thick, lush, green lawns (when it rains), where you can relax whilst trying your luck on some fishing🎣 .
