Rain Farm Private Game Lodge & Spa Rain Farm Game Lodge is tucked away between rolling hills and sugar cane fields, just 15 minutes inland from Ballito.

The property boasts a 300 hectare wildlife sanctuary that is both ruggedly beautiful and rich in adventure. With the Umhlali rapids rushing beneath you, from the deck of one of the 6 romantic tree top tents you can gaze upon the African plains filled with zebra, giraffe, wildebeest and many species of antelope. The lodge is fully equipped for self-catering guests, aside from the tree top tents. Guests also have the option of indulging themselves with mouth-watering dishes prepared by our gourmet chefs at the restaurant, which is open from Friday to Sunday every week. Rain Farm Game Lodge offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the mystery and beauty of the wildlife, cultural heritage and African plains through game drives and bush walks; guided by our well-experienced and professional guides. Rain Farm Game Lodge is the perfect getaway location for both couples looking for a little romance and families wanting some quality time together.

A huge congratulations to Renneal Pillay👑 the winner of our Name Our Giraffes Competition! 🎉

We absolutely loved her beautiful name choices for the three newest members of our Rain Farm family:

🦒 Jabari – our young male, meaning “Brave”
🌸 Ayana – one of our young females, meaning “Beautiful Flower”
🤍 Zola – our other young female, meaning “Peaceful & Calm”

We think the names suit them perfectly! ❤️

MEET THE NEWEST MEMBERS OF THE RAIN FARM FAMILY! 🦒

Yesterday was a very special day at Rain Farm Game Lodge as we welcomed three beautiful young giraffe to their new home. 🌿🦒

Our new arrivals — one male and two females, approximately 2–3 years old — made the journey from the Hluhluwe area before being released onto the farm.

And we couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. ❤️

After exploring their new surroundings, the three youngsters found our resident giraffe herd and have already joined up with them. They’re settling in beautifully and looking very much at home on the farm.

There’s just one problem… THEY NEED NAMES! 👀

So we’re handing that job over to YOU.

A SPECIAL RELEASE, A VERY HAPPY REUNION 🦔🌿

Another successful porcupine relocation from Simbithi Eco-Estate Simbithi Eco Estate to Rain Farm! ❤️

This beautiful porcupine is the partner of the one we successfully captured and released on the farm previously — and we’re delighted to know that the two are now reunited and settling into their new home. 🦔🦔

Even more special was having some of our overseas guests along to witness the release. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to experience a very real part of conservation in action — not just seeing our wildlife from a game drive, but being part of giving an animal a second chance in a safe, natural environment.

At Rain Farm, we believe conservation is about creating space for wildlife to thrive, protecting our natural environment, and allowing people to experience the magic of it all firsthand.

Another successful release. Another animal given a new home. And hopefully, a very happy porcupine reunion. 🌿🦔❤️

There is a quiet power in the African bush- and few animals embody it quite like the male Eland and the male Blue Wildebeest.

The Blue Wildebeest- rugged, determined and unmistakably wild. Built for endurance, his powerful shoulders, sweeping horns and distinctive appearance represent the raw strength and resilience that keeps our ecosystems alive.

The Eland stands as a symbol of strength, grace and resilience. Powerful yet composed, his towering presence and magnificent spiral horns reflect the beauty of an animal perfectly adapted to life in the African wilderness.

Two very different animals. Two different expressions of power. Yet both are essential pieces of the same incredible story.
