Activities in and around Ladismith includes:

Visit the historical mission towns of Amalienstein and Zoar. Calitzdorp, the Port capital of South Africa , is a mere thirty minute drive away. Oudtshoorn with it's famous ostrich farms and Kango Caves is only an hour's drive and George International airport only two hours away. The town's friendly people will charm you. Visit Ladismith Cheese Factory

with a selection of fine and delectable cheeses. Ladismith Wine Cellar offers the wine lover a great selection. Ladismith also have a golf course. Hiking Trails

For the Hiking enthusiast there is the Elandsberg Mountain trail, which takes you all the way to Stanley 's light (seen from Ladismith at night) or the Towersig Mountain trail, which will take you to Ladismith's major landmark: Towerkop.

• Elandsberg - Circular route up Elandsberg, running pass Stanley's light - a stiff climb of 792m - distance: 12.2km & duration: 5 - 8 hours

• Towersig - Circular route in the hills north of Ladismith offering views of the town and Towerkop mountain - distance: 2 - 12 km & duration: 1 - 4 hours

Passes & Poorts

If you aim is to drive as many of the old passes as possible and spend as little time as possible on the tar, then you might be interested in some of these:

• Seweweekspoort - on the Route 62 towards Calitzdorp - approximately 10km from Ladismith Country House

• Groenfontein - via Calitzdorp - 50km circular gravel road passing the Nelsriver dam

• Kruisriver - via Route 62 - 50km circular gravel road passing the spectacular Redstone Hills and regional architecture

• Matjiesvlei - Towards Calitzdorp and then a 16km gravel road with secluded farm among aloe-clad hills

• Huisriver Pass - Tar road towards Calitzdorp with breathtaking views

• Swartberg Pass - 45km gravel road via Groenfontein / Kruisriver and a 15km tar road with spectacular views

VOORSPOEDIGE NUWE JAAR vir al ons gaste. Mag 2026 n goeie en geseënde jaar vir almal wees.

LE ROUX B&B het ook n nuwe baadjie aangetrek. Ons moes ongelukkig van die bome ontslae raak weens skade aan die geboue. Ons Le Roux's is trots op ons plek en glo al ons gaste sal saamstem.

Ons is BAIE DANKBAAR en TROTS op ons huis se NUWE VOORKOMS. Dit was baie Harde werk en kan met trots sê dat Gerrit die sweiswerk ALLEEN gedoen het. Boeta dankie dat jy saam met Pa die tralies en Clearvu fencing opgesit het. Dankie Christo vir geduld met al die verf. Die manne is TOPS en mag maar!!!
