Lodge, Retreat, Self catering chalets and huts Welcome to Eingedi Retreat. We are passionate about family and living according to the Scriptures.

We are located in the South Eastern Free State between Ladybrand and Hobhouse on a beautiful, tranquil game farm with views of the Maluti mountains. Our lifestyle is based on the Hebrew perspective of our Christian faith where we enjoy celebrating the feasts and living in a community setting. We are a family friendly resort catering for guests who enjoy wildlife/nature. We cater for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy hiking, walking, game viewing, swimming & braaing. It is a working, self sustainable farm with many domestic animals (birds, geese, ducks, chickens, sheep, donkey and horses) on it for children to enjoy. We can cater for up to 50 guests in self catering thatch roof accommodation consisting of chalets and wooden huts. We also have caravan and camping sites. We offer conference facilities. In the near future we will have 4 x 4 game drives, outrides on horseback and a non-licensed restaurant. If you enjoy a remote, quiet tranquility without cellphone coverage, come and enjoy what Eingedi has to offer.

The Feast of Tabernacles ends🌴📯🙌🌴

Game Drive, pizzas, singing and feasting🤗

What an adventurous 4x4 game drive, with Caleb, the Unimog, getting solidly stuck😖It took great teamwork, and prayer, to get him out of the sticky sludge🙌💪🏻

The feasting didn't end. Pizzas on the fire in a cast iron pot was another adventure - with some of them coming out rather incinerated🥸but we eventually mastered them. 🍕🍕

Beautiful music from young to old around the evening fire, was a wonderful way to end the day.🎻🎵

And the last day we all enjoyed our new braai area with delicious steak and chips.

Reluctant farewells were said, hugs, and some tears, with the hope that we will see each other again next year...if not sooner🤗🙌📯🌴

What a blessed time of fellowship around our Father's Word and principles.

Feast of Tabernacles continues🌴📯🌴📯🌴
..and the children (and adults) are having a great time🎉🥳🎊

There was great excitement when our little people were instructed and guided to build an edible booth/sukkah. Laughter, concentration and delight were prevalent during this special hands-on time. 🌴🫓🤗

What excitement when a bakkie load of children went to help dip our new little Llama against ticks in Friendly Farmyard. After a big chase right into the dam, little 'Double Decker' calmed down and was very curious to meet his interesting visitors. Of course this was a really joyful moment and memory for everyone.

To add to the joy, there was a birthday celebration with a yummy cake, chocolates and popcorn.🎊🥳🎉

What a blessed family time 🙌📯🌴

Preparing for the Feast of Tabernacles🌿🎵📯🌴

It is that time of year again📯🙌

Our guests are booked in, and the kitchen is busy baking challah, chicken pies, soft pita bread and much more.

Willow branches are being collected for the building of the booths/sukkahs🌴🌿🌴🌿,and the gardens are being prepared for a time of celebration and fellowship.

After all the wonderful rain, it is good to see the sun, and enjoy the beauty of creation during this Spring season......and, to add to our joy, the first rose is flowering🙌🌸🌹💐

Eingedi Animals and Gardens🦙🐣🌸

What a beautiful Spring it is🌺
Wonderful rains and much life.

A little male was added to the Llama family🦙👏🏻

The first goslings hatched - a batch of 10 for 1 nest, is quite a feat🐣

Our first little chicks popped out of their eggs🐣🐤🐥 - also 10 (so cute and fluffy).

The gardens are looking lush with Irises in bloom, and the roses full of healthy leaves and buds.

The fruit trees are starting to show an impressive amount of peaches, apricots and nectarines.

The potplants are looking healthy after their big transplant, and the pansies are so colourful with their delighted little faces.😊

Our big old pear trees dropped most of their flower petals, and it looked as though we had a layer of snow in that part of the garden.

Our Father's creation never ceases to awaken a sense of awe and wonder.

Even Closer to the End of the Project🥳

Stunning finishing touches are happening 🤗

Yes, the water is running into our rustic built-in basin, thanks to Kevin's great plumbing and counter top skills👏🏻
Mandy, that copper little pipe and faucet look as good as the ideas on Pinterest😁

Our braai and grids are being fitted and welded👍🏻These men have amazing skills💪🏻

The electrical wiring is in place, and the string lights are adding a beautiful and inviting ambience 🎊💡🎊💡🎊💡

Much delight all round💪🏻🤗

Getting there🎊💪🏻💡

The lights are starting to shine & glow 🤗🥳

The string lights around the braai & along the deck are going up👏🏻

And our new look entrance to the Reception is looking stunning with the Kai outdoor wall lights, pots and plants👏🏻

While busy with the finishing touches, we are thoroughly enjoying looking at the new lines, curves, steps, and walls that have appeared in the area over the last few weeks.

Great job....looking forward to the end result🥳

SDA Children’s Camp @ Eingedi

Lots of action, happy playing sounds, busy playground, overflowing swimming pool, tents all over the campsite, singing, games, and yummy food produced in our new communal kitchen.

Well done to the organizers and teachers. You managed to create happy memories for these little people🤗

Heading towards the Finishing Line 🏃🏼🏃‍♀️🎊

Oh yes, we are on the home stretch of this big, challenging, and rewarding project👏🏻

The braai area looks stunning with its little counter-sunk basin & curved counters, and only requires the final coats of deck oil, and the welding of the braai grid metal structures.

The deck has had its final application of deck oil; the flowerpot looks beautiful with happy little pansy faces, and the wisteria is celebrating the new look stoep, by being in full bloom🤗
(Our little twin boys loved being part of all these final tweaks😊)

The outdoor furniture is back in its place, and we had our first dinner on the deck😋

Last on the list ---> the lighting💡💡(watch this space!)

Oh, wow, when dreams come true...and turn out better than you had hoped🎉🙌

The Braai and Countertop🔥🎉🤗

What a masterpiece ⚒💪🏻👏🏻

A challenge for Kevin, who had never before thrown a curved top.

After building a very sturdy frame, checking for strength, the concrete was thrown and floated.

And just to add to the challenge, the ladies asked for a counter-sunk basin in the slab....
Out of the kitchen came the right-sized stainless steel bowl.
