A safari at Nambiti Plains is never just about ticking animals off a list.

It is about heading out into the reserve with an experienced guide, following tracks, watching behaviour unfold and allowing the bush to reveal itself at its own pace.

Some drives bring dramatic sightings, while others are remembered for the smaller details - birds calling at first light, fresh tracks in the road or a quiet sundowner as the day comes to an end.

Every drive is different, and that is exactly what keeps the experience so special.

Us, just waiting for Spring to arrive this morning…

But nature has a way of reminding us that it comes in its own time.

So instead of a sunny Spring morning, we had mist settling over Nambiti Plains, with the sound of birds carrying through the mist.

Not quite the Spring morning we expected, but beautiful in its own way. 🌿

Throwing it back to one of those safari sightings that sounds completely made up…

A lion in a tree, surrounded by buffalo!

You can only imagine the excitement and adrenaline our guests must have felt watching this unfold. It’s not every day you see a lion taking refuge in a tree while a herd of buffalo waits below.

Thankfully, there was a happy ending. His brother came to his aid, and our lion was able to safely make his exit from the tree.🦁

Have you ever experienced a safari moment like this? We would love to hear all about it in the comments⬇️

Our expert guides do far more than simply spot wildlife.

Every track, every footprint and every mark tells a story. Who passed through. Which direction they were heading. Whether they were hunting, resting or simply moving on. To a trained guide, the bush reads like an open book.

πŸ“Έ Cait captured this scene on a recent game drive.

Now it's your turn... πŸ‘€

What story do you think these tracks and signs are telling?
Share your guess in the comments, and keep an eye on our stories - we'll reveal the answer tomorrow! 🌿

Can you feel the emotion in an image? πŸŒ…

Because this one certainly makes us feel something.

As the last light of the day painted the Sundays River in shades of red and orange, everything seemed to slow down. The water, the silence, the stillness... it was one of those moments that reminds you why safari is about so much more than the wildlife.
Some moments simply stay with you.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN NUMBER SIGNS? πŸ”’βœ¨

See 11:11 every day and take it as a little sign of good luck?

Well, how about finding natural numbers in the bush? πŸ¦“πŸŒΏ

Cait has had incredible luck spotting a number of zebras with numbers naturally reflected in their stripes β€” and some of them are even from the same herd!

Can you see the numbers? πŸ‘€

Take a closer look and let us know in the comments what you can find. πŸ‘‡

If you’re struggling, don’t worry β€” we’ll reveal the numbers in the comments and on our stories next week! ✨

Spring in Nambiti can be unpredictable... and that's exactly why we love it.
The first few weeks of spring can still bring crisp mornings, the occasional cold snap, and a few years ago, Nambiti even woke up to a blanket of snow! ❄️

But don't let that fool you. Spring is one of the most rewarding times to experience the bush.

🌿 The reserve comes alive – Fresh green growth begins to transform the landscape, trees burst into leaf, and splashes of colour return after winter.

🐾 It's the start of baby season – As spring progresses, you'll begin to spot impala lambs and wildebeest calves taking their very first steps, creating some truly special safari moments.

πŸ¦… The skies become busier – Spring welcomes the return of migratory birds such as the Red-chested Cuckoo, Diederik Cuckoo, Black Cuckoo, and the graceful Lesser and Greater Striped Swallows, filling the reserve with birdsong and renewed energy.
Spring doesn't arrive overnight - it unfolds a little more each day. That's what makes this season so rewarding to experience on safari.

Will you be joining us this spring? 🌿

β€œOut of this world! We loved absolutely everything about Nambiti Plains. The staff were incredible, and catered to all our needs. The chef was a delight and the menu options were out of this world! Jono, our game ranger, was personable, extremely experienced and made us feel truly special out there on our game drives. We didn’t just feel like guests, it felt like we were welcomed home by family and we had such a special time celebrating my dad’s 70th birthday!” - Megan, Booking.com review

One common question we're often asked about staying at Nambiti Plains... πŸ–€

Q. How many guests share a game-drive vehicle at Nambiti Plains?
A. Our safari vehicles can accommodate up to 10 guests, but at Nambiti Plains we typically seat just 6 to 8 guests per vehicle.

With fewer guests on each vehicle, you'll have more space to spread out, making every safari feel more personal and comfortable while ensuring everyone enjoys an excellent view.

Because at Nambiti Plains, safari isn't about filling seats - it's about giving every guest a front-row seat to nature. 🌿
