Our book club member, Nelly from Bosveld Guest House in Lephalale is currently reading my sister's keeper and this is what she had to say about the book

A fascinating story about Anna who feels like her only purpose for being alive is to become spare human parts for her siblings Kate who suffers from a rare cancer condition.

Anna has slept numerous times in hospital.even, though she has never been sick. Either to harvest her stem cells or donate blood to her sister. In page 128 after Anna realized her sister Kate s pictures are all over the wall and hers are so few she says " maybe it's because I was the third child and they were sick and tired of keeping a catalog of life. Maybe it's because they forgot"

" its nobody's fault and its not a big deal,but it's a little depressing all the same. A photo says you were happy and I wanted to catch that. A photo days you were important to me that I put down everything else to come watch.

Anna resorts to legal action against her parents to stop them from taking her kidney yo save her sister. Her mother is also a lawyer. This complicated the situation even further as she is keen on winning the case against her 13 year old daughter.
