After sitting on a koppie this morning, overlooking the valley below, a stalk was made on a herd of impala. As the distance was being covered, a Fallow deer stag began his iconic croak, still unseen. An unmistakable sound this time of year, as their grunts echo through the veld during the rut.

Then, right on cue, this old stag simply presented himself at 40 yards in the thick, one of those rare moments where the bush does the work for you.
