Heritage Day at Jaci’s 🇿🇦
Heritage is carried in people, in stories, in language, in family - and in the places that shape us.
Here in Madikwe, Setswana culture and heritage are an important part of the identity of the region and the communities that surround the reserve. It’s a heritage that lives not only in history, but in everyday life - in language, traditions, family, storytelling and a connection to place.
For Jaci’s, that sense of heritage is woven into our own story too.
We are a family-owned lodge, shaped over the years by the people who have worked here, grown with us, welcomed guests through our doors and helped make Jaci’s what it is today.
It’s in our guides and the stories shared out in the bush.
It’s in our kitchen, our teams and the familiar faces guests return to.
It’s in the families behind Jaci’s, both those who founded it and those who have become part of its story over the years.
And it’s in Madikwe itself, a place with a history and identity far bigger than any one lodge.
So this Heritage Day, we’re celebrating the people, cultures, families and landscapes that continue to shape Jaci’s, with a special acknowledgement of the Setswana heritage that is so deeply connected to this part of South Africa.
