Day 2 is off to a mega start! After stopping at a lookout point, we spotted a Waterbuck bull down in the valley.
Needing to shorten the distance, the team walked down the valley to close some distance, when he disappeared. These spekboom thickets are no joke and animals disappear in an instant.
But they also reappear! Which is exactly what this bull did.
Jon attempted a long shot of 460 yards without luck.
The Waterbuck had moved up the mountain and the team decided to reposition to where we could see he was standing. As they started their stalk in, they bumped into him at 40 yards.
With Jon on the sticks, a well placed shot took the Bull down at 80 yards. What a way to start the day - with plenty of daylight still ahead of us, who knows what the rest of the day will bring....
