This is a female golden orb-web spider (genus Trichonephila),
A large arachnid known for its distinctive yellow-banded legs and the massive, golden-hued silk it spins.
Despite their intimidating size, these spiders are harmless to humans, delivering a bite only if severely provoked.
Their webs are exceptionally strong and have been known to trap small birds in addition to insects.
The female is quite large, with an abdomen that can reach 30mm, while the males are significantly smaller, often living on the periphery of the female's web.
