marks the 10th anniversary of Ilala Palm Park. This “feel of Africa” camping and caravan
park is situated in the heart of northern Zululand near Mbazwana. The park boasts 6 private camp-sites each with their own ablution, scullery, hot water,

220 volt electricity, braai, and a bird bath- bringing rare and exotic birds right to your doorstep. “'n Voelkykers paradys”
There is also a swimming pool to help with cooling off during those warmer months. There are basics such as charcoal and ice available from the reception. Mkuze, Thembe, Lake Sibaya, Ndumo, Kozi Bay, Sodwana and Muzi pan are all within an hours drive away and cater for various tastes ranging from fishing, scuba diving, game viewing and of cause bird watching. Available from the reception is a bird list of all birds seen within the camping and caravan site. This list has over 117 different bird species on it and is available on request. Just to name a few, Pink-throated Twin-spot,Southern Boubou, ,Rudd’s Apalis, Brown-hooded Kingfisher and many many more. Bookings can be made with a well trained local bird guide for tours. For the more adventurous a tour at Muzi Pan Adventure centre can be arranged to experience canoeing amongst the hippos and crocs. At the reception area local listings of events and information of surrounding areas can be obtained. I ended up extending my stay of one month as the park is well situated between many of the local game reserves as well as the hospitality of the owners” quotes one of the campers who camped at Ilala Palm for two months. Future plans for Ilala palm park include two chalets and a bird hide.
