If you wander around the homestead, you’ll come across a series of beautifully illustrated ceramic plates - each one depicting scenes from the early days in the Kruger National Park.

They were painted by Hilda Stevenson-Hamilton, the wife of the Kruger National Park’s first warden, James Stevenson-Hamilton and a close friend of the Halls.

Her whimsical sketches, poems and stories of bushveld life are both art and memory - passed down through generations and keeping the magic of those early days alive.
