Set in a peaceful, scenic valley, the lodge is available for exclusive bookings and on full board, half board or self-catered basis. Or for the more active, explore the 5,000 ha property and have some fun helping out!

Incoming! A massive cold front pulled in last night. Lots of rain, snow and strong wind to follow. For the animals, luckily there is plenty of cover and after a good season of rain, they are all nice and fat. All of which helps deal with such conditions. For the rest of us, a good sherry and warm fire will have to do.

Feeling a little sorry for these little critters (Cape Ground Squirrels) with the sudden drop in temperatures.

The good news is that even when temperatures drop to below freezing, their burrow temperature fluctuates very little and will be between 11 and 14 degrees Celsius through the winter.
