There’s something magical about the African bush in the early morning… when the mist still clings to the earth and the world feels half-awake.
This morning, just after 9am in Mkuze, we had the privilege of a quiet encounter with two spotted hyenas. No noise, no rush… just a steady, confident walk down the road as if they were the true owners of the land.
Often misunderstood, these incredible animals are powerful hunters, intelligent, and deeply social. Watching them move together in that soft, golden light felt like witnessing a secret of the wild — a moment not staged, not interrupted… just real.
Encounters like this remind us that nature doesn’t need to perform to be extraordinary. Sometimes, it simply passes by… and leaves you in awe.
