Understanding Nature 💦🍂

As many of you know, our lodge is beautifully nestled at the foot of the Witwatersrand mountain, in the serene area of Hekpoort.

We’ve recently received a number of questions about the water around the property, and we’d love to offer some clarity. Being surrounded by untouched nature means that we experience its full beauty — especially during the rainy season 🍂

During this time, rainfall naturally activates underground water reserves and natural springs beneath the surface. As these fill up, the water finds its way to the top, creating the wet and lush conditions you may notice around the lodge💦

This is a completely natural and seasonal occurrence, and part of what makes our environment so unique, vibrant, and full of life.

We truly appreciate your understanding as we embrace the rhythms of nature together.
