We do not see the Brown Hyenas in the Dinokeng Game Reserve that often, so when we do it is a real treat. The old guy looks so bad I am sure that it was his last year and you feel you want to take him home give him a good bath and take all of the ticks off him. I think that I am getting sentimental in my old age. - Derrick

"Red Hornbills have pap for breakfast in the Dinokeng Game Reserve. Every morning we have about 20 Red Bill hornbills waiting for their breakfast and can have about another 10 species at the feeder tray. We sit out on the patio and watch their antics and every morning is a show. What a place to live where lockdown is a pleasure."

It is drone time again in the Dinokeng Game Reserve. For all of the wonderful folks who visited the reserve for the first time this last weekend on a self-drive. If you missed the elephants here they are and we hope to see you again soon. The best place to live during the lockdown. I have a plot for sale in the reserve if you would love to make this reserve your home.

This is the time when I most enjoy watching elephants. They enjoy the water so much and when you are watching them you see the pure pleasure as they play in the water. One can imagine that a huge body that becomes weightless in the water and how much joy they get out of it. As I watch them I often just close my eyes and try and feel what it would be like to be an elephant in the water – pure pleasure. The video is by Daviid Swanepoel from Tamboti Bush Lodge

SELF ISOLATION This is why self-isolation is going to be bearable over the next few months for us. We at least can have visitors who do not really care about Coronavirus. So for all of my wonderful FB friends around the world who are doing the sensible thing and staying home I promise you that I will keep on posting as many lovely videos and pictures of the wildlife around us just for you and I am very sure that you have many friends and relatives who are in the same situation then for them please share, share share and keep everyone as sane as we can until this horrific issue come to an end
