1)Mitford Lodge – The Crossing

This spacious apartment offers stunning ceiling to floor sea views with a balcony for unrestricted enjoyment of the Morgan’s Bay cliffs and the breaking Indian Ocean waves. Ideal for families or two couples, both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, and there is a large fully-equipped kitchen, and built-i

n braai on the balcony. The Mitford is centrally situated “on the sea” within a short stroll of the main beach and lagoon. It is also a pleasant walk up to the breath-taking view on the cliffs. For most necessities the TopShop can be reached within minutes, and a trip to Double Mouth Nature Reserve, is under 10 minutes away. East London airport is about 90kms south of Morgan’s Bay, with hospitals and shopping facilities in the city. High Season Rates : Easter (07 - 10 April 2023 - Minimum stay 3 nights) :
R2425/ night
Christmas holiday : (15/12/22 - 10/01/2023 - Minimum stay 7 nights) :
R3815/ night

Low season : ( 2 or more nights ) : R2095/night.


2)Mitford Lodge - Dela

Dela is a light welcoming apartment with a panoramic view of the Indian ocean and majestic Morgan’s Bay cliffs. The waves break on the rocks below, and the beach is an easy stroll away. Perfect for a family, the unit has a sea-facing main bedroom, with an adjoining alcove with 2 single beds. The bathroom has both a shower and a bath. Top Shop is centrally located in the village, and the airport is 90kms away in East London. Double Mouth Nature Reserve is over the hill, where Treasure Beach can be accessed on foot. The Morgan’s Bay cliffs are a quick walk from your unit, with breath-taking vistas of the water meeting the land. Unit was strictly bed and breakfast but Restaurant downstairs is presently under transition, so meals can be taken at nearby hotel at own cost. Bar fridge , kettle and small microwave in unit. Rates : High Season- Easter ( Minimum 3 night stay) :
R2195/night
(High Season Christmas 15/12/23 - 10/01/24 - Minimum 5 night stay) :
R2205/ night. Low season R1295/ night for 2 nights or more
Low season for one night only: R1495/ night

3)Mitford Lodge - Savuka

Is a lovely, breezy sea-facing unit on the 2nd floor of the Mitford. It is a family unit with a main bedroom double bed and adjoining alcove
with 2 single beds. The bathroom is fitted with both a shower and a bath. The views from the bedroom encompass the breaking waves and wide expanse of the Indian Ocean, to the majestic, lofty cliffs, a mere stroll from your lodging. The beach and lagoon can be reached, on foot within a few minutes. Double Mouth Nature Reserve is a few kilometres along the cliff road, and the Top Shop centrally located within the village. Low season R1295/ night for 2 nights or more
Low season for one night only: R1495/ night

After a week in which we had to deal with a 'questionable' review, to have a guest who really 'gets' what Morgan's Bay, our units and the Eastern Cape is all about, was tonic for our souls. He sent us these images out of the blue and told us how much he loved his stay despite the load shedding. It is for people like this that we are glad to be in this 🙂- " Good morning, we stayed at your place on Wednesday night. Although there were no lights, there was very little inconvenience. A little gas cooker for tea, a light to carry around, TV Although we didn't need it) and a restaurant downstairs where we had a lovely meal. We have stayed at your place before and will do so again next year when on our travels to Port Alfred. Here are a couple of pictures to take that you might like. Kind regards D'

Hi there - just a heads up to all our customers and those who are interested - We are in the process of changing the name of our collective units from Mitford Lodge to Mitford-on-Sea and this page's name will also change however it seems like FB will not allow the hyphens so it will be 'Mitford on Sea' (still awaiting approval). We have found the name change necessary to avoid some operational confusion over what facilities we offer. Thanks and have a great day !

Newly tiled and freshly decorated, renewed decking outside it has everything you require for nice long stay at Morgan's Bay including a built in braai. 'Salty' Restaurant is downstairs for when you don't want to self-cater.

Well it's been a big few months for us after completing our first year in the business. We read our many reviews carefully and looked into how we can improve our units and put a wider smile on our customers faces. We are happy to announce the we have reworked the configuration of Dela and Savuka (our couples/small families units) and we can now offer a kitchenette, including air fryer, gas stove, a larger fridge, renovated Decking with new Stainless steel Braais, just about everything refreshed and just waiting for you to arrive !
