Job Title: Refrigeration Technician (EE Position)
Department: Maintenance
Location: Diaz Hotel & Resort, Mossel Bay
Closing Date: 04 September 2026
About the Role:
Diaz Hotel & Resort is seeking a qualified and experienced Refrigeration Technician to join our Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial refrigeration and cooling systems to ensure optimal performance across the resort.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and commission refrigeration units, including piping and electrical components
Conduct routine maintenance, including cleaning systems and checking refrigerant levels
Diagnose and repair faults in compressors, pumps, motors, and associated components
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electronic issues using appropriate tools and equipment
Perform pipe soldering and component replacements as required
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations, including SAQCC Gas requirements
Respond to emergency maintenance calls and provide technical advice on repairs and system performance
Minimum Requirements:
Proven experience in commercial or industrial refrigeration systems
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals
Experience working with refrigerants and compliance standards
Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Strong communication and customer service skills
Additional Information:
This is an Employment Equity (EE) position, and preference will be given to suitably qualified candidates in line with the company’s EE plan.
Candidates must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays if required.
