A herd of Wildebeest 🤩

Wildebeest are an important part of the African grassland ecosystem. As grazers, they feed primarily on grasses, helping to prevent certain grass species from becoming overgrown and encouraging fresh, nutritious growth.

Their grazing also opens up the vegetation, creating opportunities for other herbivores to feed on newly available grasses. As they move across the landscape, wildebeest contribute to the natural cycling of nutrients, while their dung returns valuable nutrients to the soil.

One year ago today… 🥂🌿

Kudu Plains took a leap of faith and bought our neighbouring farm — a completely dilapidated property with no running water, no electricity, no fencing, and a very rickety roof! 😅

What followed was four months of hard work, building, renovating, plenty of challenges, and a whole lot of love for the place.

Today, it’s hard to believe it’s the same property.

From a forgotten little farm to the beautiful Maluti Lodge it is today — a special part of the Kudu Plains family. 🦌🌅

We’re incredibly proud of how far it has come, and even more excited for what the future holds.

One year down… and this is only the beginning 💚
