And, with five dams stocked with either bass or trout, as well as outstanding sporting facilities and cultural activities, this enduring resort provides a balance between recreation for sports enthusiasts and tranquility for those seeking relaxation. From the moment you arrive at our front door you will feel the stress of the city has been left far behind. Self-contained, free standing thatched cottages provide the finest accommodation, and delectable fare and sumptuous banquets coupled with every possible creature comfort makes Champagne Sports Resort the ultimate 'berg experience. Only a three-and-a-half hours drive from Johannesburg and 2-hours from Durban, the resort is ideally situated for both relaxing leisure weekends and for corporate conferences. Following recent resort developments, Champagne Sports Resort can now accommodate up to 750 delegates at the foot of the majestic Drakensberg mountain range. The 40 new hotel rooms and four new luxurious executive suites enables us to offer a total of 152 hotel rooms and 91 time-share chalets of which the majority are three bedrooms (all rooms en-suite). Other recently completed additions to the resort include an extended dining room and largely expanded buffet, a new Wellness Centre and coffee shop with adjoining lounge. Our new buffet and dining areas comfortable feed up to 700 guests with little queuing and complimented by an outstanding food offering rapidly gaining a reputation in the hospitality industry.
