"Spectacular, relaxing and very comfortable.
From the moment we hit the gravel road, to being received at reception, to opening the door to the wooden self-catering cabin, we were in awe. The cabin was so cozy and clean. It had everything we needed for our little getaway. The dam surrounding the cabin was full, so the wildlife was spectacular. The sounds at night were unbelievable. We were fortunate to see a Horned Owl and a Fish Eagle. The fish were also jumping out of the water, which was spectacular. Thank goodness for electric blankets because it was super cold, but we made a fire and had a wonderful braai. This accommodation surpassed our expectations by far. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will be back! "

To our valued visitors, tourism partners, stakeholders, and members of the travel industry:

We are pleased to announce that we have received official confirmation that the road closure affecting access to the Cango Caves has been lifted. Although a stop-and-go traffic management system remains in operation along the affected section, the route is now accessible to visitors.

Having awaited this confirmation, we are delighted to confirm that preparations for reopening have already commenced. The Cango Caves will officially resume full operations on Saturday, 11 July 2026.

As South Africa's oldest tourist attraction and one of the nation's most treasured natural heritage sites, we look forward to once again welcoming visitors beneath the surface to experience the exceptional beauty, rich history, and geological wonder of the Cango Caves.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our visitors, tourism partners, and the broader community for your patience, understanding, and unwavering support throughout this challenging period.
