THE RETURN OF AN ICON: SUNWA RIVER LODGE IS READY

PARYS, FREE STATE | OFFICIAL RELAUNCH ANNOUNCEMENT

A new chapter begins on the banks of the Vaal River.

We are proud to announce the rebirth and relaunch of SunWa River Lodge reimagined as a complete Adventure, Events and Leisure Destination in Parys.

SunWa is back. Refreshed. Repositioned. And ready to welcome South Africa again.

Set along the magnificent Vaal River, SunWa brings together adventure, nature, hospitality, food and human connection in one destination. Whether you are planning a corporate conference, team-building programme, year-end function, family gathering, Sunday lunch, riverside escape or an adventure-filled day out, there is now a place where it can all come together.

This is more than the reopening of a lodge. It is the rebirth of an adventure destination.

Guests can look forward to conferences and corporate events, professionally facilitated team building, adventure activities, Sunday lunches, Picnic Sundays, accommodation and riverside stays, year-end functions and memorable Vaal River experiences.

Our vision is simple: to make SunWa one of the must-visit adventure, leisure and events destinations on the Vaal River a place where companies reconnect, families gather, teams grow stronger and people simply come to enjoy life.

Nature brings people together. SunWa gives them a place to belong.

The doors are open.
The team is ready.
The adventure begins again.

SUNWA RIVER LODGE — More Than a Destination. It’s an Experience.

A beautiful resort where SUN & WATER meets on the banks of the Vaal River, a celebration of nature in its purest form & place where you can feel at home.

THE ADVENTURE IS COMING BACK TO SUNWA.
After an extended absence, a new chapter is beginning at SunWa River Lodge in Parys.
The property has undergone extensive redevelopment and revitalisation, and over the coming weeks we will begin reintroducing the adventure and group experiences that made this Vaal River destination such a natural home for outdoor activity and team building.
White-water rafting, quad biking, archery, paintball, axe throwing and professionally facilitated team-building programmes are among the experiences being prepared for their return. Our renewed offering will also support conferences, corporate groups, government departments, schools, churches, tour groups and private functions.
This is more than the return of individual activities. We are rebuilding SunWa as a destination where adventure, conferencing, teamwork and the Vaal River come together in one place.
Our operational teams are currently completing final preparations ahead of reopening. Activity launch dates and booking information will be announced shortly.
Group and corporate enquiries are open now — speak to our team about upcoming programmes and arrangements.
