🦈 THINGS TO DO IN GANSBAAI: SHARK CAGE DIVING! 🌊

Ready to tick something BIG off your bucket list? 😳🦈

Shark cage diving in Gansbaai is one of those experiences you’ll be talking about for years. And no, you don’t need to be a scuba diver — you simply get into the cage, take a deep breath… and get ready to meet one of the ocean’s most incredible predators.

With Marine Dynamics, the experience is about much more than adrenaline. Their crew includes marine biologists, conservationists and experienced guides who share fascinating insights about sharks and marine conservation. 🌊💙

✨ What to know:
🦈 No scuba certification required
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Suitable for ages 4–100
🌡️ Water temperatures vary from around 10–20°C
♿ Crew can assist guests with disabilities
🌦️ Trips depend on sea & weather conditions
📅 Keep your day flexible — final trip times are confirmed the day before

💡 Pro tip: Shark sightings can vary from day to day, so marine lovers may want to consider booking more than one trip.

🎒 Bring along:
🩱 Bathing costume
🧥 Warm clothes & a windbreaker
📸 Camera
🕶️ Sunglasses & sunscreen
💊 Motion-sickness medication if needed

And the best part? You’re not just getting an adrenaline rush — you’re learning about these incredible animals and why protecting them matters. 🌍🦈

Blessed for 5 Years 🤍

This July, our business turns 5! We have been blessed beyond what we ever thought possible.

My name is Sanmarie, and I started Salted Fynbos Staying as a side hustle during the winter lockdown of 2021. At the time, I was working in the w**e industry, and because we weren't allowed to sell w**e during lockdown, I suddenly had some extra time on my hands.

For exactly one year, I ran my side hustle alongside my full-time job. The following winter, our baby boy was born, and after that, I decided to leave my job to focus fully on my family and the business.

Not long afterwards, we started training and building our own cleaning teams so we could better manage the standard of our cleaning services. Then along came our baby girl. Last July, we opened our own laundromat, serving both our holiday homes and the public.

Winter is usually a little quieter for our homes, giving us time to dream, plan, and work on our next venture.

Since 2021, we've grown to managing more than 40 handpicked holiday homes in the Gansbaai and Pearly Beach area.

Looking back over the past five years, I can't help but feel overwhelmed by all the blessings we've experienced in every area of the business. From our incredible team working behind the scenes to our loyal guests who keep coming back and brighten our days with their kind feedback after every stay—I am truly thankful and content.

I'm so grateful for this journey, and even more excited for what the future holds.
