We’re happy to share that Pearly Beach is now in the clear. Our town is recovering, rebuilding and quietly finding its feet again. There’s a new look to the land, but also a renewed sense of hope among its people.

As we step into a new year, we do so with optimism, gratitude and belief in new beginnings β€” for this special place and everyone who calls it home.

As I’m posting this, the wind is blowing at 40 km/h, farms around me are burning, and neighbours’ sheds and homes are on fire.

Hundreds of hectares have already burned around Pearly Beach, with around 200 firefighters and volunteers fighting multiple fire fronts. Air support has been grounded, crews are stretched thin, and the wind is relentless.

⚠️ We are in Code Red β€” meaning conditions are extremely dangerous. Fire is spreading faster than it can be stopped. Signifying direct threat to life & property.

πŸ™ Please keep Pearly Beach, our farmers, and every firefighter and volunteer in your prayers. Many make their living from the fynbos that surrounds us β€” and right now, everything is at risk. 🧑
