A heaven for safari game drives with presence of the Big-5 and a culinairy hotspot! The Lengau lodge is situated in the Grietjie Private Nature Reserve (GPNR). Since the Grietjie Private Nature Reserve is directly connected to the Greater National Kruger Park, all kind of animals are freely moving through the reserve. A beautiful place to embrace the wild nature of South Africa, including the big-5! The Lengau Lodge is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the GPNR. From the viewing deck above the restaurant and kitchen building you have a magnificent view over a large part of the GPNR. A bore hole that is only 50 meters from the main buildings attracts all kind of animals, like buffelos, antelopes, elephants, giraffes, warthogs and even lions!

Yesterday, at the end of the afternoon, just before sunset, a leopard d decided to have a drink after a very hot afternoon with temperatures as high as 38 dgr.C.
A fantastic sighting for our guests, completing the big-5 for the day 😊😎🇿🇦🐆🐘🦁🦏🐃

Early this morning we went out for the morning game drive. The first thing we saw was a herd of elephants, only 200 meters after we started. We enjoyed the scenery, visited the beautiful Olifants river where we saw hippos and crocks, but nearly at the end of the early morning safari game drive we saw this nice group of lions. Our famous Grietjie pride. Today we saw 4 lionesses and 12 cubs, now 6-8 months old. The pride is doing so well.

Yesterday we were driving just before sunset, when we heard the territorial roaring of a lion. We went looking for him and found him eventually, just 2 meters from the path.
When we stopped he just ignored us and decided to let our guests from Germany hear what roaring of a male lion from up close sounds like…..
