Today is a deeply poignant day for us at Born Free; We remember George Adamson, "Baba ya Simba", the Father of Lions, who was killed near his remote camp in Northern Kenya on this day in 1989.

George pioneered the return of captive lions to the wild. Together with his wife Joy, he shared the story of Elsa the lioness with the world, inspiring a generation of conservationists.🦁
