Over the last two days, Plett and the greater Garden Route have faced some of the heaviest rains and flooding we’ve seen in years, with weather warnings reaching a Level 8 severity.
Being right on the beachfront, we’ve had a front row seat to the power of the ocean - massive swells, relentless rain and seas unlike anything we’ve seen in a long time. But while we watched the storm roll in, our hearts could not help but go out to the many families, individuals, workers and businesses who have been far more severely affected by this weather.🤍
To those who have experienced flooding, damage, loss, displacement, or uncertainty during this time, our thoughts are with you.
Plett has always been a community that shows up for one another in difficult seasons. Time and time again, we’ve witnessed incredible kindness, resilience, generosity and support from this town and its people. And we know that, together, we will rise above this again.
To every business owner, every family, every staff member, every emergency worker and every individual affected, we are thinking of you and standing with you.
Stay safe, stay warm and continue looking out for one another. 🤍
