Do you know the faces that started it all? 🤍

Meet Howard and Ingrid Walker - the visionaries behind the Walkers collection and the heart behind Walkers Beach. For more than 40 years, they have been creating extraordinary hospitality experiences across South Africa, driven by a love for beautiful spaces, nature, family and meaningful connection.

What began with a few fishing cottages on a farm in Mpumalanga grew into a legacy of lodges, hotels, safari camps and ultimately, a dream brought home to Plettenberg Bay.

Plett has always been woven into the Walker family story. Both Howard and Ingrid have deep roots here, with family members playing a role in shaping the town’s early development. After years of treasured family holidays, they transformed a special piece of coastline into what is now Walkers Beach - a place where design, comfort, art and nature come together.

Their love for art, architecture and thoughtful design can be felt throughout every space, but perhaps their greatest legacy is family. Howard and Ingrid raised four sons - Michael, Mark and twins James and Steve, instilling in them the same spirit of adventure, appreciation for beautiful places and passion for hospitality. Today, that legacy continues through the next generation.
