Our five comfortable guest cottages are situated on the edge of our working vegetable farm which supplies most of the local restaurants in the area with fresh produce. Stunning views over the gentle slopes of the Piesang River valley reach as far as the high peaks of the Garden Route - Tsitsikamma Mountains. Ideally situated right across the Plettenberg Bay Airport and only 5 minutes away from beautiful beaches and the bustling little village of Plettenberg Bay, you could not wish for a better location for your next self catering vacation. Uitsig Vegetable Farm is located across the Plettenberg Bay airport and produces a variety of about 18 different vegetables and salads. Throughout the year we grow approximately 120 000 cabbage (we plant about 10 000 cabbage seedlings every month) which are complemented by cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, beetroot, tomatoes, green pepper, baby marrow and butternut. Seasonal salads include lettuce, green frilly, red frilly, cos and butter lettuce. During the summer months we add on watermelon and spanspek. Wholesale orders are processed at the farm and we deliver to a variety of businesses including hotels, B&B's and restaurants in and around Plettenberg Bay and as far as Monkeyland in The Crags. Additional produce gets sourced from other local farms and if not available locally from the City Deep Market in Johannesburg. The Fruit & Veg Shop
Uitsig Fruit & Veg Retailers Shop is conveniently located in the centre of Plettenberg Bay across the Plettenberg Bay taxi rank on the corner of Wilder and Kloof Street. The shop is easy accessible from Marin Drive with plenty of parking and boosts the retail and whole sale division of Uitsig Fruit & Veg Retailers. Of course, all our own farm produce is available in the shop. Additional produce and a variety of fresh fruits gets sourced from other local farms and if not available locally from the City Deep Market in Johannesburg. Our own produce consists of cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, beetroot, tomatoes, green pepper, baby marrow and butternut as well as seasonal salads such as lettuce, green frilly, red frilly, cos and butter lettuce.
