Gearing up for the Port Alfred Easter Festival 2026, we are super excited about the Royal St Andrews RipCurl Cup QS 4000, a WSL Qualifying Series event. This is the only Surfing SA event endorsed by the World Surf League in South Africa this year. Surfs up, everyone!

A huge thank you to the NSRI and Gardmed Ambulance Service Makhanda and Port Alfred for providing water safety and emergency response services for the duration of all the Ocean events during the 2026!

A frequent visitor to our garden, the Knysna turaco—known in South Africa as the Knysna loerie—is a striking, large member of the turaco family (Musophagidae). This beautiful bird is a resident breeder in the mature evergreen forests of southern and eastern South Africa

Happy New Year 2025! Perfect weather. The water was so clear we could see the fish swimming around us. Our guests have been treated to some fantastic weather this season

Weather changed many times today but at THIS moment we seized our opportunity and had one of the best swims of 2024. Beautiful warm water with a slow current and a mild breeze. Bobbed like a wine cork till we were completely dehydrated
