More than you bargained for....

Established as a guest house in 1995, the house was built in 1928 and restored in 1986. Valley Guest House is situated on the Baakens River Valley, overlooking Settlers Park Nature reserve and within walking distance of St Georges Park Cricket Grounds and the hospital. The two en-suite bedrooms offer twin or double beds and en-suite bathrooms with a shower over bath. All rooms treat guests to bed linen, a flat screen TV and a coffee/tea station. Credit card payments are also accepted. Relax on the covered veranda and enjoy the bird life in the nearby enormous Coral tree.

Port Elizabeth is a city rich in 1820 Settler history. We are home to the biggest South African flag that is raised daily at the Donkin Memorial - another beautiful site with beautiful mosaic paving the way to the pyramid Sir Rufane Donkin had erected in remembrance of his wife, after who Port ELizabeth is named, but who never actually set foot in this bay. Route 67 is a beautiful inner city historical walk that showcases various works of art and historical facts about Port Elizabeth, including Fort Frederick.

A walk up the Baakens Valley is the perfect antidote for busy city living and has been named our “upside down mountain” with 22 kms from source to sea.

The beachfront is well developed and offers a good 8-10 kms of beautiful beaches, a skatepark, a variety of restaurants, Hobie Pier, a flea market and various informal traders. A visit to BayWorld is a must - get your timing right to watch the snake and seal interactions.
