The cottage consists of 2 rondavel rooms, a shower, outdoor bathroom, kitchen and a lounge/playroom. There is a large veranda with beautiful sea views. The cottage is rustic, using a generator for electricity and having a gas stove, shower and fridge. The shower has a pump and good pressure but is using only rain water, so showering needs to be done quickly. There is no TV, however with the views,
a TV is not needed. There is a fence around the cottage with a large mowed garden. In total, it sleeps 16 people, 6 in each room, 2 in the lounge and 2 in the caravan. ACTIVITIES
The fishing in the Transkei is always exciting. Fishing off the rocks you are guaranteed to catch some roc cod or shad. Deep sea fishing is also good, with plenty of bream, muscle cracker and shad. Bonito have also been caught. Spotting dolphins and turtles is also very common. Launching
Christmas day 2014 a Black Marlin was caught and released off a jet ski about 600m from shore in front of the cottage. One can also get fresh crayfish from the locals. Brazon Head is a 90 minute drive from the cottage and is one of South Africa's best fishing spots. snorkeling - There are many rock pools with a wide variety of beautiful fish to see. One can expect to see fish, starfish and octopus. The water is usually very clean and on a sunny day it is absolutely amazing. You can choose to snorkel in the large rock pools or to go a bit further at the edges of the rocks and see bigger fish. Bikes - Miles and miles of riding terrain consisting of cattle paths and single tracks as well as easier dirt roads. The locals are very welcoming and love seeing the bikes. Can do short rides or plan day trips, like a ride to Hole in the wall and back. Unfortunately no riding motorcycles or vehicles are allowed on the beach. Trails - Umngazi River Bungalows is a 3km walk along the beach or paths, it is a stunning walk and you can cross over the river by fairy and have lunch and cocktails. Umgazane River mouth is a 1.6km walk from the Cottage. There are many more beautiful hikes and walks to explore. The price is R500 per night for up to 4 people, after that, it becomes R150 per person per night. A 50% deposit will need to be paid before arriving. There is a gillie(helper) and a cleaner available everyday. They will need to be paid an additional R100 each, per day, and this will need to be paid by the people staying at the cottage.
