The Story of Dino Park SA
A tale of family, dreams, courage and a little Jurassic magic.
, along the beautiful shores of the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, there lived a family with hearts full of dreams and imaginations that knew no bounds.
They were the Munsamy family — Clinton, Evelyn, Samuel and Aliana, the family behind Dino Park SA.
Together, they shared a dream: to create a place where children could laugh without a care, where families could make memories together, and where imagination could turn an ordinary day into something extraordinary.
They dreamed of a world where little explorers could encounter dinosaurs, wander through magical jungles and experience adventures that would stay in their hearts long after they returned home.
And so, a little seed of an idea was planted.
What if there was a place where dinosaurs came to life, where families could escape the ordinary, and where the magic of childhood could be experienced by everyone?
It was a beautiful dream, but like every great fairytale, the journey would take courage, determination, teamwork and a whole lot of faith.
One: The Little Jungle That Could
In October 2021, the Munsamy family's dream began to take shape. A little corner of Melville, Port Shepstone, was about to become the home of something truly special.
With love, hard work and a vision to create something different for families, Dino Park SA opened its gates on a stormy Sunday morning. That day, the rains did not stop but people came out in numbers to experience this unique place with 11 dinosaur and 1 Jurassic trail, now know as the Beta Trail.
What started as a dream grew into a family-run adventure where little explorers could step into a mini Jurassic jungle and come face-to-face with life-sized dinosaurs.
There were no grand castles or glittering kingdoms in the beginning. Instead, there were winding jungle paths, prehistoric creatures and the promise of adventure around every corner.
Behind it all was a family working together, each carrying a piece of the dream in their hearts.
And so, the first chapter of Dino Park SA was written.
: Where Little Explorers Became Heroes
As the seasons passed, the jungle grew, and so did the dream.
More dinosaurs arrived on our 1st birthday. 2 New trails were created. Real fossils travelled across the world to find their place in our Dino Gallery. Families followed mysterious paths, completed exciting missions, hunted for fossils in the fossil pit and discovered the wonders hidden among the greenery.
The sound of little footsteps became the music of the jungle. Children's laughter became its magic.
Every photograph captured a memory. Every family visit added another page to the story. And every child who left with sparkling eyes reminded the Munsamy family why their journey had begun in the first place.
Dino Park SA was becoming more than a place to see dinosaurs. It was becoming a place where families could escape the ordinary and create extraordinary memories together.
And just like the strongest fairytale heroes, the family continued to dream, build, learn and grow — one adventure at a time.
: A Dream That Refused to Stand Still
But the Munsamy family's imagination was far from finished.
For every dinosaur that roared, there was another adventure waiting to be discovered. Behind every new idea was a possibility, and behind every possibility was a family determined to keep dreaming.
The Lostworld Maze brought twists, turns and challenges for curious explorers. The Wonderland Selfie Studio created playful spaces for unforgettable photographs. The Pteradactyle zipline for kids had our kids flying with a baby pterodactyl. The fun and interactive Dino Shows with our Rangers prove to be our big rangers favourite activity. Adding special activities and special events brought new excitement to the park each new season.
Little by little, the dream became bigger than the jungle that had started it all.
And the family began imagining something wonderful:
What if children could step out of prehistoric times and straight into a world of fairytales and legends?
A world where dragons guarded mysterious lairs, unicorns waited for their little riders, fairies hid among flowers and storybook adventures came alive.
A world where imagination had no boundaries.
: The Kingdom of Land of Legends
And now, as Dino Park SA approaches its fifth birthday in October 2026, a brand-new chapter is unfolding.
From the imagination and hard work of the Munsamy family, a magical new kingdom is emerging — Land of Legends.
Here, fairytales and fantasy intertwine. Brave knights can seek Excalibur, princesses can dream beneath Rapunzel's tower, and curious adventurers can discover enchanted gardens, magical creatures and storybook surprises.
The dragons have their lair. The fairies have their hiding places. And the unicorns are waiting to welcome a new generation of dreamers.
What began with dinosaurs has grown into a world of imagination, where children are no longer simply visitors — they become the heroes of their own adventures.
For the Munsamy family, Land of Legends represents more than another attraction. It is another dream brought to life, another chapter in their family's journey, and another opportunity to give children a place where their imaginations can soar.
And the story is still being written.
Five: Five Years of Magic, Memories and Dreams
Five years ago, the Munsamy family began with a dream.
Today, that dream continues to grow through every family who walks through the gates, every child who discovers something new, every birthday celebrated, every school excursion enjoyed and every memory carried home.
There have been challenges along the way, as there are in every worthwhile fairytale. Building something from a dream takes patience, sacrifice, determination and the courage to keep going, even when the road ahead is uncertain.
But the Munsamy family has continued to believe in the magic of what they are creating.
Clinton, Evelyn, Samuel and Aliana — the DPSA family — are part of a story built on family, imagination and a shared dream.
And perhaps the greatest treasure of all is not simply the dinosaurs, the attractions or the magical worlds being created.
It is the joy on a child's face. The laughter of a family exploring together. The photographs that will be treasured for years. The memories created across generations.
And the knowledge that a dream, once imagined, can become a place where thousands of other families make their own dreams come alive.

As the fifth birthday approaches and the gates to Land of Legends prepare to open, the Munsamy family's story enters an exciting new chapter.
Five years of roaring dinosaurs.
Five years of little adventurers.

And countless adventures still waiting to unfold.
For in the little kingdom of Dino Park SA, dinosaurs still roam, legends are born, magic awaits around every corner, and there is always another story to tell.
And the Munsamy family?
They are still dreaming, still creating and still building a place where childhood magic lives on.
And they all lived adventurously ever after…
